GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN (November 24, 2003) - Have you ever wondered what it would
be like if Santa were a woman? The Jane Hibbard Idema Women's Studies Center at Aquinas
College would like to invite you to their annual holiday celebration, "What if Santa
Were a Woman?" Each year the Center hosts this unique event to encourage members of
the Aquinas College community to think about how things might be different if jolly
old St. Nick was a woman. The event on Friday, December 5 from 12 noon-1:30 p.m. in
Aquinas Wege Student Center, Lower Level Lobby.
Ms. Santa Claus will listen to the holiday wishes of Aquinas faculty, staff and students, pass out special gifts from her sack, and lead participants in the singing of traditional Christmas carols (which have been slightly altered to fit the gender of this special Claus). Come visit with Ms. Santa, and her reindeer-poodle, Elfie, sit on her lap and get your picture taken with her while you whisper to her all of your secret holiday wishes.
