Students sort through campus trash to demonstrate sustainability

(GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.) – On October 10, Aquinas College will present “Mount Trashmore,”
                                             an event showcasing the College’s sustainability goal of becoming waste-free by 2014.
                                             All campus garbage from October 9 will be gathered and dumped in the Wege Plaza on
                                             October 10 where students and volunteers will be sorting through the trash to demonstrate
                                             what waste could have been composted or recycled.  Students committed to sustainability
                                             will be present throughout the day to raise awareness for environmentally conscious
                                             living, while also encouraging others to sign a sustainability pledge.
