Grand Rapids, Mich. - Aquinas College has been selected to receive a grant of $238,646
                                             under the Student Support Services (SSS) Program by the United States Department of
                                             Education, Office of Legislation and Congressional Affairs. The grant will be used
                                             to provide opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic college
                                             requirements and motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary
                                             education. Aquinas proposes to serve 160 eligible participants with the grant money.
                                             Participants are identified as low-income, first generation college students or individuals
                                             with disabilities. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation
                                             rates of its participants.
