Michelle DeRose, Ph.D., Aquinas Associate Professor of English, and senior honors
student Kelly Dittmar have done the research and writing necessary for their presentation
Family Friendly Policies. The results of this unique joint research by professor
and student will be presented on Tuesday, November 15, 12:30-1:20 p.m. in the Wege
Student Center Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.
They will co-present their findings on family-friendly policies and their implications for faculty members, comparing the results of a faculty and student survey at Aquinas College to those reported nationally. Special emphasis will be placed on the simultaneity of tenure-track work and the childbearing years of most female faculty members; however, the study covers all aspects of negotiating a work-family balance within institutions of higher education.
