Aquinas College recently held the 2024 Student Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Symposium, a twice-annual event that showcases the quality and diversity of AQ's research.
This symposium is designed to allow students to put into practice and demonstrate the depth of their research skills with those outside of their disciplines. It is also designed to demonstrate the importance of research and scholarship within our community via formal presentations, recitals, writings, poster sessions, and art exhibits.
2024 Symposium
This year, 62 students presented research posters, ranging in subject matter. Among the presentations, students seemed to favor topics related to mental health, current political phenomena, athletic training, social media, health sciences, and – in many cases – intersections between these topics.
In addition to the research posters, 59 students who participated in internships this year presented posters that showcased the skills gained through their experiences this semester. These companies and organizations even included big names, such as Corewell Health, Lake Michigan Credit Union, and West Catholic High School.
After the symposium, five students gave oral presentations on their research and internship experiences. This year’s presenters were: Margaret Christian, Laura Standel, Rachel Buehler, Grace Wilson, and Anastasia Benstead.
