Emeritus Evening at Meijer Gardens

Join us as we celebrate our Catholic and Dominican heritage by honoring the incredible contributions made by our Dominican Sisters and Dr. Paul Farr!

The Dominican Sisters founded what is now known as Aquinas College in 1886. There have been over 2,000 Dominican Sisters who have attended and graduated and over 180 who have been a part of faculty and staff at Aquinas College. We will look back at the contributions they've made, the lives they've influenced, and the impact they have made in the West Michigan community. Dr. Alicia R. Córdoba will present the Dominican Sisters with the President’s Award.

Dr. Paul FarrDr. Paul Farr received his B.A. from Harvard University and M.D. from Boston University. After completing his training in gastroenterology, Dr. Farr and his young family came to Grand Rapids in 1980. He practiced at Trinity Health Grand Rapids, formerly Saint Mary’s Hospital, for thirty-six years. He became involved in the local and state Medical Societies and served on numerous boards of directors including Trinity Health Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Symphony, Opera Grand Rapids, Faith Hospice, Holland Home and OLLI at Aquinas. Now retired for eight years, Dr. Farr feels lucky to have had a great career in a city that values collaboration and volunteerism.

Proceeds from this event will support the Aquinas College Annual Scholarship Fund and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Aquinas College.
