Dr. Michaeleen Kelly is an Emerita Professor of Philosophy at Aquinas College with
areas of specialization in political theory and informal logic. She has published
several papers on human rights and just war theory, and has recently presented her
paper on just war theory for Aquinas College Lecture Series, the Michigan Political
Science Association Conference, and Westmont College's Gaede Institute for Justice
and Peace Studies. She's written a text on critical thinking, which she has used to
teach inmates at the Los Angeles Men's Central Jail. She is a published poet and has
won the Dyer-Ives Poetry Contest twice. She just released her second poetry/instrumental
cd, "Same Ol‚' New Beginnings" and is an accomplished pianist and accompanist, who
performs classical and romantic piano music in a variety of public settings. Her current
and recent course offerings include Logic and Argument, Why Punish the Guilty and
The Philosophy of Human Rights.
