Andrew Bergeron is a guitarist, composer, educator, and entrepreneur from Grand Rapids,
Michigan known for his work with the Folias Duo. Bergeron's 14 year collaboration
with Folias, a duo co-led with his wife, flutist Carmen Maret, demonstrates Bergeron's
flexibility and expertise in classical, world, and improvised music. He has performed
with Folias on stages around the globe including in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria,
Italy, Portugal, Argentina, and Chile. His contribution as both a composer and performed
with Folias has produced six CDs of original music and arrangements for flute and
guitar. About Folias‚' release Tango and Snow, Todd Gorman in American Record Guide
wrote, "Bergeron plays classical and flamenco guitars with a great range of energy
and sensitivity."
Bergeron maintains an active teaching career serving as an instructor of guitar, music
theory, and aural skills at three West Michigan colleges: Aquinas College, Grand Valley
State University, and Grand Rapids Community College.
