(For traditional in-coming freshmen and transfer students only)
Criteria and Requirements:
All incoming freshman students
declaring a major in theatre are eligible to compete for
the Cora Vander Werf scholarship and one of four other
$1,000 scholarships. Each scholarship is renewable based
on a yearly audition/interview process which will include
proof of 10 hours of community and participating in one mainstage production per semester during the previous
academic year. Scholarship recipients for the 2009-2010
academic year will be notified by May 1, 2009.
How to Apply:
Prospective scholarship recipients must submit a completed Theatre Program scholarship online application by Friday, March 12, 2010. The scholarship auditions will be held during our campus-wide Fine Arts Day on March 19, 2010. If you are unable to attend this day, contact Randy Wyatt at rew001@aquinas.edu or (616) 632-2999 before 5 p.m. on March 12 to make alternate arrangements.
Majors wishing to focus on performance must audition with two contrasting monologues no longer than four minutes and must be prepared for an interview. Majors wishing to focus on technical theatre must present a portfolio consisting of past theatrical work and must be prepared for an interview.
