After spending 10 years outside of Michigan, Julie returned home to the mitten state in 2011 when she assumed her role at Aquinas.  Prior to joining the AQ community, she worked in progressive Residence Life roles at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania and Ohio Wesleyan University.  Julie earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan (’01) and M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University (’06).  Julie has many professional interests and passions, including service-learning and leadership development, and has served as an adviser for six student mission trips.  In 2006, she had the opportunity to travel abroad with her graduate program on a study tour of colleges and universities in England, Scotland, and Ireland and was chosen in 2013 to represent Aquinas on a trip to Fanjeaux, France with other Catholic Dominican institutions.  Julie has enjoyed becoming involved in the Grand Rapids community, including holding leadership positions in several organizations.  She can also be found running and training for short distance races, singing with the choir at St. Robert Parish, rooting for the Wolverines, or enjoying all that Grand Rapids has to offer with family and friends.  While she grew up on the East side of the state in the Detroit area, she has come to believe the “West side is the best side.”

David lives on campus with his wife and two children. His family loves to visit Wilcox Park for the swings and to jump around in the splash pad. David is passionate about the Detroit Lions, loves reading Harry Potter (and many other books) to his children, and enjoys cantoring at church.
