Week of Action

The Week of Action was first established by a national organization, It's On Us, to educate on sexual violence on college campuses. Following their calendar, AQBelieve facilitates targeted programming throughout April 1-7 to reach the same goal. Scheduled events include:

Week of Action Concerts: A concert from our very own Isabella DiPietro to start off the Week of Action with a bang! Tacos will be provided too! (Monday April 1, 8pm, @ The Moose)

Intersectionality in Sexual Assault: AQBelieve, together with Social Action Committee, L@SA and the Diversity Assistants, will explore how different voices express their own relation with sexual assault and gender-based violence. Thanks to a range of panelists from diverse backgrounds, we hope to offer a wide array of personal visions, giving spaces to narratives often buried over the white, heterosexual, upper and middle class female voices that have been leading the discussion on a national level. After the panel, there will be a short activity involving the audience. Food will be provided as well! (Tuesday April 2, 5-7, in Loutit)

Art Fest: Making empowering art while looking at empowering art. People will be free to use art as a tool for self-empowerment, healing and self expression; Alamanda Barr will be present to give brief lessons on how to express yourself with abstract art as well! Refreshers will be provided! (Thursday April 4, 6-9, in Loutit)

Self-Defense Classes: The Jane Hibbard Idema Women's Studies Center and AQ Believe are co-sponsoring two sessions of self-defense classes! While the classes are free, advance registration is required to attend one of these sessions. To register, please fill out the form provided. The classes max out at 20 people, so sign up as soon as you can! https://goo.gl/forms/z5c2Y1yMkRvMfFqz2
