A New Chapel

For the first time in the 131-year history of the college, Aquinas has a building specifically built as a chapel. Through the years, with fortitude and practicality we’ve made the most of existing structures. We’ve held Mass in the Academic Building and the horse stables of the Lowe Estate. Cheered on by the community, in 2013 we began in earnest to develop the plans for designing, building, and opening a chapel.

Conversations turned into meetings and meetings turned into committees. We sought the counsel of internationally acclaimed architect, Duncan G. Stroik and considered how to best blend grandeur, a sense of awe, Dominican values, and adherence to our historic campus architecture.

We set an ambitious timeline and with the help of friends from as close as across the street to as far away as across the globe, we surpassed our goal!

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom sits beautifully in the heart of our campus, providing a place of reflection and celebration to all who enter its doors.
