Beam Signing in Honor of Sister Aquinas' Birthday

Staff, faculty, students, trustees and other friends of the college were on hand on May 2 to celebrate Sister Aquinas Weber's 95th birthday by signing a construction beam of the Sister Mary Aquinas Weber wing of the Albertus Magnus Hall of Science.

After a few remarks and a ceremonial signing by Sister Aquinas, President Quinn and others, guests were treated to birthday cake inside Holmdene Manor.

The beam was available near Holmdene for one week prior to the event, giving hundreds of students a chance to sign the beam before finals.

While the fundraising campaign for the Contributing to More campaign continues, framing of the new portion of the science bulding is almost complete. A live timelapse of the construction can be viewed here.

Sister Aquinas has been influential in the fundraising efforts at Aquinas College for generations. An article about Sister Aquinas' contributions to Aquinas College and the Grand Rapids community can be found here.
