Young Alumni Award

We celebrate young alumni who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, personal growth and civic service in their community at the annual A Celebration of Saints Auction and Awards Gala.

2019 Recipient:

Katie Rogala Fahey ‘11

The Alumni Association Leadership Council honors Katie Fahey with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. Katie is the Executive Director of The People. She works full time for the organization from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to working for The People, Katie was the Executive Director of Voters Not Politicians in Michigan where she led over 14,000 state-wide volunteers to organize and pass a ballot proposal with 61% of the vote resulting in changing the Michigan constitution to make political gerrymandering illegal. Prior to VNP, she worked in the garbage and recycling industry. Katie received her BA in Sustainable Business from Aquinas College in 2011. She was awarded Crain's Twenty In Their 20s by the Detroit Business Journal, and has been recognized nationwide for her work on the Voters Not Politicians campaign, including the Rachel Maddow show (MSNBC), Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, and much more. Almost every national press organization has covered her and the campaign in some capacity including the New York Times.
